Welcome!

I would like to introduce myself to you as a freelance conservator of musical instruments and objects made of wood, working closely together with museums (such as the Vienna Technical Museum) and private clients.

Just now (January 2014) I returned to Vienna after a 1 1/2 year-long Andrew W. Mellon Conservation Fellowship at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. During my fellowship at the MET I was occupied with the conservation and examination of several historical European harpsichords as well as stringed bowed instruments. Moreover I helped to improve the storage conditions of the musical instruments in the museum.

I graduated in conservation and restoration at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna in 2011. Subject of my diploma thesis was the conservation of a heavily damaged 16th century Venetian harpsichord in the Collection of Ancient Musical Instruments of the Kunsthistorisches Museum Vienna, in the course of which the instrument was made playable again.

During several internships, such as at the Ringve museum of musical instruments in Trondheim/Norway, but also in the course of my studies, I had the opportunity to gain experience with the conservation of bowed and plucked string instruments. I broadened my knowledge by collaborating with furniture and sculpture conservators in Vienna.

I look forward to receiving your orders concerning the conservation of your musical instrument or farourite piece of art.
